I can't believe this year is almost over! it seriously flew by! 2016 has treated both of us well. I accepted a new job and Hannah is moving to South Carolina for PA school (she's actually on the road today....and I'm low key crying in my bed as i'm typing this.....). 2016 roundup coming soon! As for this outfit, I think this would be a perfect option for dinner dates or running errands in before NYE! This sweater is super soft and I love the mustard yellow color! I snatched these coated leggings from Express awhile back and I wear it all the time! Its super comfortable and fits like a glove - major win! Express is actually having an awesome end of the year sale right now - so make sure you check it out! (up to 70% off!)
I normally don't get this personal or in-depth, but I have some exciting news to share with you all today! I'm moving to South Carolina today for Physician Assistant School!!
Two and a half years ago, I graduated college and moved back home- unsure of what I was meant to do for my career. I got a full-time medical job to gain experience, but got into a funk because I missed college, my friends, my independence, etc. Now I'm not saying that I'm not extremely grateful for my parents allowing me to move back in with them, while I figured out my next steps, but it wasn't the easiest adjustment. Thankfully, Amy was in a similar boat- finishing college and living at home, too! A large majority of our friends no longer lived in our hometown and were off, with careers- enjoying their independence- so I'm very fortunate to have had her support and understanding! We both researched and explored the idea of having a blog together (throughout college we were both were obsessed with so many bloggers- and still are!) I mean, what else were we going to do with our free time?! We began working every weekend on starting our website and shooting outfit pictures to create content. We spent countless hours interacting with other bloggers on Instagram and gaining an audience. Soon, this blog became such a fun hobby and developing (very small) business that we could share! When I reflect back on this time between college and grad school, I realize how much this little blog kept me busy, happy, and allowed me to explore a creative outlet, as well as gave me marketing and business experience- which I never imagined I'd have or be interested in before. I'm not trying to boast, or claim that we've made it big- because we in no way have! We're still very small bloggers comparatively, who just love this hobby of ours that we created. I just wanted to share how this little fashion blog really made a difference during this transition period in my life, as dramatic as that may seem. I've never worked harder at anything than I did to get accepted into Physician Assistant school, which is why I'm thankful that during the many struggles and hard times- I had this blog to fall back on. Pursuing a career in the medical field is what I'm meant to do and I'm SO excited to begin that journey- but blogging has become my favorite hobby and something I want to continue. I know I will have wayyy less free time to create content or blog, but I'm going to try my best! As always, thank you so much for your support and for continuing to stop by! I hope you'll continue to follow along- with both of our adventures and lives!
Can you guys believe there are only 4 more days until Christmas?! Goodness, I swear this month flew by! wait.....more like this year flew by! I'm looking forward to Christmas mostly for all the yummy food and some quality family time! THEN I will start being healthy and get back to working out.. haha...it was just a slippery slope after Thanksgiving! You feel me?
Anyways, I love rocking an all white look during the winter time! I think it's super chic and classy! I seriously wear this white skirt from Zara (similar) all the time - summer, winter, fall, and spring! A white skirt is major closet stable in my book! I paired this skirt with this turtleneck and jazzed it up with a pair of red heels!
Thanks for stopping by! and AHHH 4 more days guys! How exciting!
xoxo
With only 5 days til Christmas, we're finishing up the last of our shopping at Halls in Kansas City! It's such a magical store during the holidays! It has so many options for gift-giving! Clothes, shoes, home decor, jewelry & accessories, beauty products, and way more! I decided to buy my family some skin care products because it's important to keep your skin healthy, moisturized, and protected throughout the year and especially in the winter! La Mer is top of the line for anti-aging and protection for women. Jack Clark makes great moisturizers and shaving creams and lotions for men.
The best part about shopping at Halls? It's located at Crown Center in the heart of downtown Kansas City and has so much to offer around it. After finishing my shopping, I went ice-skating which was so much fun, followed by dinner at 'The American Restaurant'. It was delicious and had great views of downtown! It was such a stress-free, festive and fun day to finish my shopping and enjoy Christmas!
Be sure to check them out if you live in KC or online: here!
I actually bought this leather jacket a few years back but never worn it. I thought it gave me too much of a "biker chick" vibe and I was not about that life...hahah...funny how things change because I now wear this jacket all the time and LOVE it! Its a must have for this season and definitely a classic closet stable. I paired this leather jacket with a skirt and heels to give it more of a feminine look. I love the lace details on this skirt, and it will also be perfect for new years!
It snowed ALL weekend! I loved it because I got to snuggle by the fire place and watched holiday movies all weekend but....also having minor stress attacks currently because I didn't get any Christmas shopping done... Looks like I have to hit up Amazon Prime today! haha oh the struggles.
At about this time every December I run into the same situation. I have at least one person...okay more like five.....left on my Christmas list who I have no idea what to get for a gift. Christmas shopping can be hard, especially when you are on a tight budget! but it is also kinda fun searching for presents that they might love and need!..."kinda fun"..haha. I searched around the web and found 15+ completely random items under $30 that just might help you get your shopping list done!!Scroll down for more! :)
Fun Gifts Under $30!!!
Bp. Stripe Chunky Knit Beanie - Can we all agree that beanies are the #trend this winter? This one is super soft and cute!
Hair Coils/Ties - This might look silly, but its seriously the best thing ever! it won't crease or break your hair - I wear it all the time around the house and at work.
Makeup and Jewelry Storage Case - I'm a major lipstick fanatic and this helps me organize all of them in one place! I used to put all of my lipsticks in 20 different make up bags - it was such a mess!
White Steamer - Great to pack while you are on the go! I love mine!
Any fun plans this weekend?
The weather in Kansas is not looking so great! Its suppose to snow up to 5 inches! I'm really hoping that it won't actually snow since I'm planning on shop til I drop! I haven't crossed anyone off of my Christmas shopping list yet! #majoryikes! and...I suck at driving in the snow...wish me luck everyone!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful weekend!
xoxo
