Chinese New Year Look

SKIRT: WhoWhatWear // TOP: Nordstrom (similar & similar) // HEELS: Jessica Simpson // EARRINGS: BaubleBar // WATCH: Fossil // BRACELET: BP. // BAG: Gucci (similar)

Happy Monday and Happy Chinese New Year! In my book, this is the most exciting time of the year! There's just something special about celebrating that part of my culture/tradition and spending quality time with the family. And who doesn't love to receive lots of Hong Bao? Quick learning time: Hong Bao - Red Envelope is a monetary gift (money!!) which is given during the holidays or special occasions by family members or friends. My family host a Chinese New Year party every year, where my parents literally invite all of the Asians in my town....not even being dramatic! haha...Though, the party is a week away but I have already started searching for a festive look to wear that evening.

I have always been a "red" person - mainly because I'm super asian and super superstitious and will forever believe that the color red will bring me all the luck in the world! haha....and I think red goes great with my skin tone. I paired this red blouse with this black + gold polka dotted skirt and black heels to compete the look. I kept the look festive but casual, considering that I will be helping my mom with a lot of the prepping and cleaning.

Thanks for stopping by! and Cheers to the year to Chicken!
xoxo
