I've been so drawn to plaid lately, especially around this time of year! I chose this one because it's a tunic, so it can be worn several different ways! I also think this one and this one are great options too! And they can be worn all winter long, not just during Christmas!

I've been getting into the full-Christmas spirit lately by watching so many Christmas movies! My all-time favorite is 'The Holiday' because well, Jude Law obviously, and then I just love the cast and the story-line! I love the idea of living in a charming, quaint little English cottage in the countryside outside of London for the holidays. How amazing would that be?! My other Christmas movie go-to's are: Elf, A Christmas Story, Home Alone, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and The Santa Clause. There's nothing better than watching these each year, while drinking hot chocolate and eating way too much puppy chow!

I've spent the day baking Christmas cookies and treats! It's pretty cold here, so I'm enjoying the excuse to stay in and bake! I've made my favorites: frosted sugar cookies, white chocolate pretzels, and puppy chow so far! 

Anyways, I found this velvet dress for under $50! It's trendy, flowy and so comfortable! (This dress is another great option!) I've already worn it to a holiday party this past weekend, and think it's a great option for New Years Eve too! It also comes in 2 other colors! Another great part about the dress is it's adjustable straps- making it work for anyone and any size!  I chose to pair it with a white blazer, to stay warmer!

Off-the-shoulder Holiday Dress

I can't seem to stay away from anything velvet or off-the-shoulder lately, so when I saw this dress, I obviously had to snatch it! The color of this dress is gorgeous and the long-sleeve addition is always a plus when its freezing outside! And did I mention, this dress is under $16?!? Forever21 has been on top of their game lately- I'd highly recommend checking them out! 

Oh also, the choker I'm wearing is from Baublebar and it's actually a statement necklace that can be separated into three different sections! It's so versatile! I also love to wear the choker part of the necklace as a bracelet! The full statement necklace look can be seen here! 

Did everyone have a good weekend? I got a whole bunch of cute stocking stuffers and started a DIY mug project to give to my co-workers! Its getting sooooooo cold here in Kansas City - all I want to do is watch Christmas movies, drink hot chocolate and stay in my pjs all day everydayyy!

If you know me, you know I have an obsession with Starbucks- but something about the holidays and cold weather makes me want one of their fun drinks even more! My favorites are the caramel brulee latte and chestnut praline latte as a sweet treat! However, if you want something lighter, less rich, and guilt free- try a caramel macchiato with half syrup and coconut milk! Also, have you seen their cute Christmas cups/mugs?!

Anyways, I always love a good turtleneck, especially for Christmas! I was drawn to this one because the material is so soft and lightweight, and it's a tunic too- which means it can be worn with leggings or jeans! It comes in an olive green color, which is another festive option! And did I mention it's on sale for $32?! Holllaaa

Another gift guide to share with you all for any special guy in your life! I asked my boyfriend, Nick to help me with it, so you know it's guy-approved! 

1. Shaving kit: it's pretty self-explanatory. Every guy needs one! Even if they don't shave!

2. Flannel or plaid shirt: Nick shops at Express a lot- they have great shirts!

3. Watch: Fossil is my favorite brand- I got one for Nick a few months ago, and I've gotten them in the past for my brothers! They're always great quality, great prices, and have awesome stainless steel or leather options!

4.  Wallet: every guy needs one! 

5. Duffel bag: can use to travel or take to the gym! I also like this Nike duffel!

6. Speakers: Nick has told me that JBL are the best brand of speakers!

7. Toiletry bag: great for toiletries when traveling!

8. Fitbit: perfect for any guy who works out! 

9. Bar set: I gave Nick one and he uses it all the time!

10. Whiskey decanter: perfect for any guy that likes whiskey!

11. Cologne: Nick wears Dolce & Gabbana - "The One" and I don't want him to ever change it, it smells that good! It's my favorite cologne ever!

12. Shoes: Nick has these Calvin Klein boots and I love them- they go with everything he wears!

13. Sweatpants: another necessity in any guys wardrobe!

The Perfect Grey Dress Coat for Winter

Christmas is just around the corner and I haven't even started my gift list! Major #YIKES! I'm for sure going to be one of those crazy ladies running around the day before Christmas buying everything in sight..haha

When it comes to winter coats, I love to stick with classic and simple styles. I find sticking with neutrals makes it easier to pair with both solids or prints! After weeks of searching for the perfect grey coat for this winter - I HAVE FINALLY FOUND IT! This grey dress coat is literally perfect!  The color is exactly what I was looking for and the fit is beyond awesome. Not only is this coat a looker (is this a saying? super stylish, trendy, cute?...haha) but it actually kept me warm in the snow!

We both have this but first coffee travel-mug and monogram mug and think they're the cutest things ever! I have this pillowcase on my Christmas list, and this over-sized weekender bag is a new addition and I am SO in love with it - I like to pack clutches (like this) in my over-sized bag to keep all of my make-up, passports, credit cards, etc all in one place and it doesn't hurt that it doubles as a going-out bag! 

Two of my go-to gifts to give to my girl friends are these kendra scott necklaces and these kate spade earrings! It's an everyday-wear jewelry that I know they will love and actually wear, it's simple yet delicate, and its not too expensive!...but expensive enough to show that you..."care" haha 

Oh also, this portable charger is the most ah-hhh-mazinggg thing ever! It charges up to 5 battery uses and has 2 plug ins. I use mine all the time, especially when traveling. And this would make a great gift for all the guy bffs in your life! :)
